The Presidential Media Division had announced that the Cabinet had decided that if interim committees were to be appointed from now on, Cabinet approval should be obtained.
He also announced that the International Cricket Council has given the necessary decision-making power to the Ministerial Sub-Committee headed by Foreign Minister Ali Sabri regarding the suspension of the membership of the Sri Lanka Cricket Association.
In response to this, the Minister of Sports issued a press release under his ministry letterhead stating that since there was no such cabinet order or discussion, the announcement of the Presidential Media Division should be corrected.
