A discussion was held yesterday (22) afternoon at the Presidential Secretariat between President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Tamil and Muslim party leaders and representatives from the opposition regarding the programs planned for the upcoming Sri Lankan Day event scheduled for December.
During the meeting, the President emphasized that every citizen must be able to live freely while respecting all religious and cultural identities. He reiterated that the country will not be allowed to fall into any form of racist division and called on all parties to support the government’s ongoing initiatives aimed at promoting unity and inclusivity.
The President further instructed the organizing committee to develop programs and plans that encourage collective participation, ensuring that all communities can work together harmoniously.
