President hands over the Bank of Ceylon to Kavan Ratnayake, the brother of President’s Chief of Staff Sagala! I Sri Lanka Latest News

Mr. Kavan Ratnayake has been appointed as the new chairman of the Bank of Ceylon. It is said that he is scheduled to take over as chairman today (14). He is the brother of Chief of Staff Sagala Ratnayake. Sri Lanka Latest News

This appointment has been made by President Ranil Wickremesinghe as the Minister of Finance and the appointment has been approved by the Central Bank. President’s lawyer Ronald Perera was previously the chairman of Bank of Ceylon.

Earlier during the period of good governance, when his brother Sagala Ratnayake was the minister in charge, Mr. Kavan Ratnayake was appointed as the chairman of the Port Authority. He had also worked as the chairman of the Tourism Development Authority as well as the Ceylon United News Paper Institute.
