The committee is tasked with evaluating the economic impact and providing recommendations to the government.

The committee comprises key figures from Sri Lanka’s financial and economic sectors, including the Secretary to the Ministry of Finance, the Governor of the Central Bank, the Chairman of the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka, and the Chairman of the Export Development Board of Sri Lanka. Additionally, the Director General of Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Senior Economic Advisor to the President Duminda Hulangamuwa, Chief Economic Policy Advisor of the Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce Shiran Fernando, and industry experts Ashraf Omar, Sherad Amaleen, and Saif Jafferjee have been appointed to the panel.
