President Anura Kumara Dissanayake Offers Condolences at Vatican Embassy Following Pope Francis’ Passing

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake visited the Vatican Embassy this afternoon (24) to convey his condolences on the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis.

Upon arrival, the President was warmly welcomed by Archbishop Brian N. Udaigwe, the Apostolic Nuncio to the Vatican in Sri Lanka.

Following a brief exchange with the Apostolic Nuncio, President Dissanayake signed the condolence book, offering heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Government and the people of Sri Lanka. He also extended his sympathy to Christians worldwide in light of Pope Francis’ death.
