President Anura Kumara Dissanayake announced today (17) that the government has decided to extend the Aswesuma benefit program to an additional 400,000 families beginning in June.
The President made this statement while addressing a public rally held in the Mannar area.
During his speech, the President noted that due to the prolonged conflict in the Northern region, the government was compelled to take over people’s lands and restrict access to certain roads. He assured that under the leadership of the National People’s Power (NPP), these long-standing issues would be addressed, paving the way for a country where citizens can freely engage in their daily activities without obstruction.
