President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, currently on a four-day state visit to China, is set to conclude his trip with several significant engagements in the Chandu region today (17). These include visits to prominent electrical manufacturing factories, which highlight the cooperative ties between the two nations.

As part of his itinerary, the President is also scheduled to tour a model village focused on poverty alleviation, underscoring Sri Lanka’s commitment to learning from successful international development initiatives.

Later in the day, President Dissanayake is expected to meet Mr. Wang Xiaohui, the Secretary of the Sichuan Province of the Communist Party of China, to further strengthen diplomatic and economic relations. Following this, he will visit the National Science, Technology, and Agriculture Center to explore advancements in these critical sectors.

The delegation accompanying the President includes Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism Vijitha Herath, as well as Minister of Transport, Highways, Ports, and Civil Aviation Bimal Ratnayake. Their presence underscores the multidisciplinary focus of the visit, according to the President’s Media Division.
