With an impending election on the horizon, the Election Commission has dispatched formal notifications to various government bodies, including the Government Press, Police Department, and Post Department, among others, instructing them to ready themselves for the event. Chairman R.M.A.L. emphasized that these notices extend to all institutions involved in facilitating electoral processes, such as the Ceylon Transport Board, Electricity Board, and Water Supply Board.

Furthermore, the chairman specified that the 2024 voter list will serve as the official roster for any elections conducted post-July 15. He added that the certification process for this voter list is slated for completion by July 15.

In accordance with constitutional and statutory mandates outlined in Act No. 15 of 1981 governing presidential elections, Chairman Ratnayake affirmed that the presidential election is scheduled to occur between September 17 and October 16.
