Postal voting in March! Ballot packets will be mailed on the 21st!

The Electoral Commission says that the reserved packets containing the postal ballot papers of the local government election will be delivered to the post office on the 21st.
Election Commissioner General Mr. Saman Sri Ratnayake said that the postal voting will be conducted within the month of March.

The Election Commission stated that the special gazette notice related to holding the local government election on April 25 is to be issued by the district election officials.

Meanwhile, the Government Printing Office said that it will send a letter to the Secretary of the Ministry of Finance today, asking him to provide the necessary money for the printing of ballot papers and other printing works of the election.

It is estimated that more than 400 million rupees will be spent on the printing of the election, said a senior official.

She stated that the printing of ballot papers will be resumed based on the response of the Ministry of Finance.

The Government Press said that they will request the Inspector General of Police today to provide additional security for the printing of ballot papers.

The government press stated that postal ballots have been printed in 17 districts.
