The decision has been taken based on an order made by the Minister of Public Security, Mr. Tiran Alas, to the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Deshbandu Tennakoon.
Making a special statement in Parliament today (07), Mr. Harsha de Silva said that he assumed the chairmanship of the Finance Committee amid many challenges.
Mr. Harsha de Silva, who mentioned that he does not have an office and only has three people to serve, also mentioned that sometimes he pays them with his personal money.
Also, the MP said that the Finance Committee continued to talk about the coal issue, sugar fraud and Central Bank salary issues, and said that he was involved in many issues.
The MP also mentioned that there was a similar situation regarding the visa issue at the airport and there were reports that he would try to cover up the incident.
Questioning whose interests such a thing is being done, he said that if his life is affected, the Speaker also has a responsibility.
