The main partner party of the government has indicated to the President that democracy can be strengthened without the division of power to provincial councils. Sri Lanka Latest News

Sri Lanka Podu Jana Peramuna, led by former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, has recently joined the protests in the south against the full implementation of the thirteenth constitution.

Attorney at law Sagara Kariyawasam stated that the people of the country do not expect a separation of powers from the President at this time while holding a press conference at the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna party office on Monday, August 14th.

He further stated that the people of the country expect the President to stabilize the country’s economy and strengthen the country’s democracy.

The people of this country do not expect you to divide power at this time. The people of this country expect only one thing from you. It is only the fact that it stabilizes the economy of this country and strengthens the democracy of this country. “
