A meeting of the heads of the local government bodies of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna was held today (18) at the party headquarters under the chairmanship of the founder of the party Mr. Basil Rajapaksa.
They mainly focused on the local government vote and the May Day celebrations.
Further strengthening of the party’s voter base for the local government elections and the situation after the end of the term of the local governments on the 19th were discussed.
The situation that has arisen in the provincial councils can also be experienced by the local government bodies whose term ends after the 19th, so attention was also paid here.
In addition to the sessions held at the district level and constituency level, special attention was paid to the importance of informing the party members through friendly meetings in their jurisdiction by the candidates.
The Party’s Secretary, Member of Parliament, Lawyer Sagara Kariyawasam, Members of Parliament, Rohitha Abeygunawardena, Namal Rajapaksa, and Sanjeeva Edirimanna participated in this event.
