Pohottuwa group meeting attacks IGP. According to reports, numerous MPs in Pohottuwa have urged the President to remove IGP Mr. Wickramaratne immediately.
The Pohottu councillors told the President that the Inspector General of Police failed to carry out his duties adequately during the recent riots.
They asked that, just as the former IGP was suspended and an investigation was launched, same action be taken against the current IGP.
However, it has been stated that the President has not responded.
