But Namal Rajapaksa had answered an inquiry made by journalists that the post of national organizer held by Basil Rajapaksa has been kept vacant.
Namal Rajapaksa said that the executive council of the party which met at the official residence of the party leader Mahinda Rajapaksa has reached these decisions.
Member of Parliament Sagara Kariyawasam has been appointed as General Secretary once again.
Apart from that, Member of Parliament Pavithra Vanniarachchi has been appointed as the new treasurer of the party.
Steps have also been taken to re-appoint Dhammarathana Thero as the chairman of the party.
The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna has also appointed members to its political committee, where the posts of Deputy National Organizers were also created this year.
The party expects to select a Tamil and a Muslim for these posts later.
