It is reported that there has been a division within Pohottua based on the President’s proposal to remove Janaka Ratnayake, chairman of the Utilities Commission, on the 24th.

It is reported that Pohottuwa General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam has already announced that he will vote in favor of the proposal, but a group of senior MPs from Pohottuwa met Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa and Mr. Namal Rajapaksa and informed that they cannot vote in favor of it.

It is learned that this group of seniors has shown to Mahinda and Namal that Mr. Janaka Ratnayake is a person who stood up for the people and fought against the increase in electricity bills, and that the Pohottu government appointed him.

According to that, Mr. Janaka Ratnayake may have seen some kind of division within Pohottuwa.
