Kumara Welgama claims Ranil Wickremesinghe is encouraging the public to tighten their belts like Mahinda Rajapaksa.

At a press conference convened by independent MPs, the MP alleged J.R. offered the president political manuals before he travelled to the Queen of England’s burial with an entourage of over 10 persons. Mahinda Rajapaksa-like, not Jayawardene.

MP added:

“Central Bank Governor: says No subsidies. We’re in trouble. Indeed. We’re there. Despite no funding, the president selected 38 state ministers. Yes, these 38 persons have privileges.”

“The president also attended Queen Elizabeth’s burial. More than 10 went with him, according to social media. False. His wife was the First Lady at the time. He chartered a jet overseas. Big spending. Luxurious accommodations. The public resisted this country’s instability.”

“I tell the president to avoid this situation. You had JR guides. Mr. Former national leader. Correct use. Even abroad, it’s inappropriate to ask a throng to tighten their belts.”
