Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna’s Hambantota District Member of Parliament Namal Rajapaksa says that the time has come for the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna to think again. Sri Lanka Latest News
He stated this while answering the questions asked by the journalists after meeting the party leaders of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.
Namal Rajapakse further commented and said
There are a large number of parties that have allied with the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna. Among them, several parties met at the Nelum Mawatha Podujana Peramuna head office. We discussed the challenges we will face in the future and how to face the upcoming elections.
We also discussed how we as a party and as an alliance will address the challenges and economic problems that the people of the country are currently facing. Also, we discussed how to modernize the trade union movement associated with the Public People’s Front. We discussed the modernization of the trade unions in the process of building ten forces and how the trade unions should act in the restructuring of government institutions in the future.
As the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, we are against the privatization of government institutions. We discussed with the trade unions how to protect public resources and increase their efficiency and effectiveness. Also, in the future, we hope to inform the people and the government about the way to build them effectively and efficiently without subjecting them to privatization or foreignization by conducting a comprehensive study on the institutions that are intended to be restructured in the future.
Mr. Susil Premajayantha and Mr. Roshan Ranasinghe have now formed separate alliances. These are the people who previously pressured Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa to resign. Those who were pressured to resign that day are now divided into two and separate alliances are held and rallies are held. Those who can’t be together with us can’t stay divided. They also have a different political opinion. It needs to be expressed. However, this is a good feature of democracy. New parties need to be formed. Also, I wish good luck to the new alliance started by Mr. Nimal Lanza.
Also, the Sri Lanka Freedom Party is trying to build a separate alliance. I congratulate that alliance as well. The Sri Lanka Freedom Party had fallen to zero. We were also in the Sri Lanka Freedom Party. We came out of there because of a policy problem and not because of a personal problem. New youth parties should be formed in the democratic structure of this country. New youth should enter politics.
Mr Ranil Wickramasinghe took a policy decision regarding social media regulation. We also think that social media regulation is necessary. Mr. Sajith Premadasa declares that under his government this regulation of social media will be abolished. This is the traditional political mentality. Cancelling everything done by the previous president. Leaders of many political parties in Parliament today have this traditional political mentality. We are sorry about that.
As the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, we must modernize. We should accept our mistakes, correct them and move on. We have not changed our policies opportunistically to gain political advantage for the time being. We stand by our opinion. We will take our party to the victory path. Our Ten Bala Sena program going to the village is successful. Through that, the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna is working to generate positive waves.
Parliament member Namal Rajapaksa says that the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna will face the upcoming general election very strongly and lead the country to victory.
The member of parliament stated this while answering a question from journalists asking if former minister Basil Rajapaksa, the party’s national organizer, would take over the responsibility of the party as he is abroad.
Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa further said that the party’s policies will not be changed opportunistically.
