Meanwhile, the committee also ordered to call a report on this illegal profit as the difference between the landed price and the selling price of a cement bag is close to 700 rupees.
The committee pointed out that it is a big problem that the increase in taxes by the Ministry of Finance to increase the government’s income without proper evaluation of the resulting social impact is a big problem.
The Parliamentary Committee on Government Finances met on the 15th at the Parliament Complex under the chairmanship of its Acting Chairman, Mr. Patali Champika Ranawaka. These decisions were taken in that meeting.
Attention was also drawn here to the regulations in the Extraordinary Gazette No. 2336/45 published on 06.14.2023 under the Import and Export (Control) Act No. 1 of 1969, which is to be approved by the Parliament.
