Parliament canteen a den of thieves . Reportedly, food items such as dried meat, fish, and eggs were stolen from the dining room part of the parliament.

It is projected that the government suffers a substantial annual loss owing to the distribution of food goods.

Due to the increase in the price of food products such as meat, fish, and dry eggs, some employees covertly take these items home virtually every day, according to reliable sources.

Several officials have previously complained to the heads of parliament about this matter.

Those sources who claim that substantial quantities of hard-boiled eggs have been removed from the parliament in recent days also claim that dry foods are also being removed.

A group of parliamentary officials told us that since these products are concealed and transported in this manner, such abnormalities can be avoided if the luggage is thoroughly inspected.

Even though leaders, notably Parliamentary Secretary General Mr. Dhammika Dasanayake, have taken numerous measures to prevent such irregularities, food dumping occurs in a sophisticated manner, according to those in the know.

They also note that such abnormalities can be avoided by implementing a unique security network in restaurants and kitchens on an ongoing basis.

When we asked a head of parliament about this, he stated that he accepts that food items continue to be discarded in small numbers.

He further added that the appropriate officials have been notified to investigate and report on the facts. –
