Parents who raised concerns over the issues with the 5th-grade scholarship exam question paper have announced that the President has decided to halt the evaluation of the exam answer sheets.

They further stated that this decision was conveyed to them during a meeting with the President on the afternoon of September 30.

During the meeting, the parents also requested that the first paper of the exam be re-conducted.

On the same day, a group of parents protested in Battaramulla and Colombo, demanding a resolution to the problem with the scholarship examination question paper. In the afternoon, the protesters gathered near the President’s Secretariat, where six representatives were granted a discussion with the President.

Following the meeting, the parents shared their thoughts:

“He informed us that the evaluation of the answer sheets would be halted. We requested a re-examination of the first paper. Today, we feel that our struggle has been successful.”
