Opposition Members of Parliament today (26) signed the relevant motion to submit a letter to the Speaker requesting permission to hold a debate under Standing Order 83(1) of Parliament, highlighting the responsibility and accountability of Parliament with regard to the impact on the rule of law and the consequences on the fundamental rights and access to justice of the people, noting that more than eight vacancies in the Supreme Court have remained unfilled for more than six months.
