Opposition Leader visits the Chamber of Commerce in Sri Lanka to discuss the recovery policy agenda with the executive board and sector heads  VIDEO & PHOTOS  I Sri Lanka Latest News

As part of the national policy-making process of Samagi Jana Balavegaya met the Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce to start a process of in-depth discussion and getting opinions on various fields. Sri Lanka Latest News

Party Leader and Opposition Leader Mr. Sajith Premadasa along with members of Samagi Jana Balawega’s Economic Group Mr Kabir Hashim and Dr Harsha de Silva, MPs as well as Dr Rohan Pallewatta called this discussion session. The Executive Board of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce as well as its sectorial heads participated in an open and honest discussion with the members of Samagi Jana Balawegaya regarding the main policy requirements for the coming years.

A number of proposals were outlined by the Board of Directors and sector heads of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, pointing out the need to maintain integrity and consistency in the subject of policy. Presentations and suggestions with recommendations were also presented by each departmental head, which can be considered as part of future policies.

This occasion marked the first time that an opposition leader visited the Chamber of Commerce. Further contacts will be made with the sector heads in the near future to organize more in-depth discussions.

The Samagi Jana Balawegaya recognizes the importance of the business sector for sustainable growth and prioritizes equality. In the future Samagi Jan Balawega government, a policy agenda driven by data and evidence from various stakeholders at all levels of society will be implemented.

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce is one such critical sector, and Samagi Jana Balawegaya appreciates the continued support provided by the Chamber in this process.
