Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa told Parliament today that a young woman, Himaya Sewwandi, from Welagedara village in the Attagalle Divisional Secretariat, has tragically taken her own life after falling victim to an online loan mafia. He emphasized that the government must urgently address this serious issue.
Premadasa called for the implementation of a formal law to prevent such incidents and urged the authorities to investigate the matter promptly, ensuring that measures are taken to stop further loss of life.
