The opposition leader said that although the Social Security Contribution Tax Amendment Bill and the Value Added Tax Amendment Bill are to be presented, it is known that no recommendations have been received from the Attorney General’s Department in this regard.Sri Lanka Latest News

The Social Security Contribution Act is implemented based on turnover and the necessary legal guidelines should be implemented for it. Since the Inland Revenue Department does not have a proper program, there is a burden on the consumer. The Opposition opposes both the VAT increase and the Social Security Bill. The opposition leader said that it is not possible.

The Leader of the Opposition also requested that the Social Security Contribution Tax Amendment Bill be postponed as it is problematic how it was included in tomorrow’s agenda if it is received today.
