In his statement, the Opposition Leader noted that Lankadeepa had today published a false news item titled “Disciplinary action against those who voted in favor of the budget.”

He stressed that the party has taken no such action, has no intention of taking such action, and that the report is entirely malicious.

The Opposition Leader further pointed out that this is not the first time Lankadeepa, owned by Ruwan Wijewardena, has published false news regarding the SJB and its leadership.

Several similar false news items previously published by the outlet are included below the announcement.
