Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, addressing Parliament today, expressed deep concern over the deteriorating state of law and order in the country. He emphasized that the situation has become critical, with even young children falling victim to violence. In light of this, he urged the government to implement stronger measures to restore security and assured that the opposition is prepared to extend its support in addressing the crisis.

Premadasa further warned that the prevailing insecurity has even impacted the judiciary, stating that it is alarming when individuals fear for their lives while seeking justice in court. He called for urgent attention to this issue and stressed the need for decisive action to prevent such situations from occurring in society.

Highlighting the role of state power in maintaining law and order, the Opposition Leader urged immediate intervention and called for a special statement to be made on the matter without delay.
