Mr. Sajith Premadasa, the leader of the opposition, emphasizes that the nakedness of this government will be exposed before long, and that these budding shadows will not take the premierships or ministers of the government for money or handouts.

He made this statement by issuing a special announcement.

The announcement is given below.

The special announcement issued by the opposition leader Sajith Premadasa!

Pro-government groups have created and socialized a latest news that Samagi Jana Balawegaya and we are preparing to unite with the government on the basis of privileges such as sharing ministerial positions. We completely reject this fake news and condemn it with the same contempt as the fake news itself.

We warn from the beginning that the current government, which is an extension of the existing Rajapaksa government, is pushing our country into an abyss worse than the previous government, and soon the nakedness of this government’s failed program will undoubtedly be revealed.

⦁ The government, which is becoming a shadow government in Pohottuwa, was trying to implement its failed agenda by spreading fake news about the Samagi Jana Balawegaya. The only challenge to the capitalist gangs and the reactionary forces is the united people’s power and those gangs do not think twice to pay any price for harming the united people’s power.

⦁ Those gangs that initially continuously published fake news that a group from the Samagi Jana Balavegaya will join the government are using as their latest strategy that the Samagi Jana Balavegaya will join the government for the positions of Prime Minister. It is a blatant lie. It’s baseless bad news.

⦁ The critical dividing line of those gangs and the United People’s Force is that they believe in deal and distortion while we believe in people’s power and recovery. We firmly believe that an election cannot save our country from this unfortunate fate. It should be emphasized to the few mercenary media who have shown the extent of media misuse by making continuous unsuccessful efforts to learn lessons from the civilized media operating in this country.

⦁ Instead of socializing any myth for the price paid to them, we suggest that they use the media wisely and ethically.

⦁ But we sympathize with their efforts to popularize their master’s opinion.

Let us only emphasize that people cannot change the truth, but the truth can change people.

⦁ We emphasize to the government that every passing second is decisive for the fate of the lives of the innocent and helpless people of our country, and instead of allocating time for making the lives of those people happy, we express our strong displeasure and disgust for engaging in politics of deals, conspiracies, and billyboys. We have posted it to the Durdanta government.

Sajith Premadasa,
Leader of the Opposition Parliament of Sri Lanka and
Leader of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya.
