The Court of Appeal today (27) ordered the dismissal of a writ petition filed with the Attorney General to issue an order to arrest and record the statements of Mr. Deshbandu Tennakoon, Senior DIG in charge of the Western Province, as a suspect in the attack on the Galle Face ‘Gota Go Gama’ struggle.
The appeal court bench comprising President court of appeal Judge Nissanka Bandula Karunaratna and A . Marikkar delivered this order.
When the petition was heard, the Court of Appeal accepted a preliminary objection raised by Mr. Romesh De Silva, the President’s counsel who represented Mr. Deshbandu Tennakoon.
