On the statement made about the LTTE! the Colombo Magistrate Court acquits Vijayakala! I Sri Lanka Latest News

Colombo Chief Magistrate Mr Prasanna Alwis today (19) ordered the release of the former Minister of State for Women and Children Affairs Mrs. Vijayakala Maheswaran as per the instructions of the Attorney General in relation to the alleged offence of the Ceylon Penal Code by making a controversial statement that the LTTE should be brought back. When this incident was called again before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court today (19), the suspect Mrs. Vijayakala Maheswaran, who is on bail, appeared before the court.

In 2018, the Organized Crime Prevention Division started this investigation based on a complaint that former minister Mrs Vijayakala Maheswaran made a statement in a meeting held at Weerasingham Hall in Jaffna 2018 to revive the LTTE.
