It is reported that the Inspector General of Police has given transfers to the North West Senior DIG, Puttalam DIG, Puttalam Senior Superintendent of Police, Anamaduwa Superintendent of Police and Anamaduwa Police OIC with immediate effect.
The emergency transfer has been given to North West Senior DIG L.S. Patinayake, Puttalam Deputy Inspector General of Police S.M.Y.M. Senaviratne, Puttalam Senior Superintendent of Police Pushpakumara, Anamaduwa Superintendent of Police H.M.C.P. Herat and Anamaduwa Police Station Chief Inspector of Police Nilantha R. It is said that the police officers named Bandara.
The Inspector General of Police has issued the relevant order implementing these transfers from yesterday (28) night.
The reason for these transfers is that they do not prevent an assault incident on a police officer by a Special Forces member from going to court for mitigation.
