Sri Lanka’s tea production fell 3.2 per cent from a year ago to 19.58 million kilograms, industry data showed, while output for the 11 months was up from last year, industry data showed.
Tea production was going up in October, with fertiliser application and rainfall availability rising.
Up to November, production increased by 1.6 per cent, from 232.13 million kilograms in the corresponding period in 2022.
High-grown tea production had increased by 2.37 per cent and mid-grown tea production had grown by 6.44 per cent, while low-grown tea production had shown a negative trend by 0.07 per cent.
