In a tweet, the President mentioned a meeting between Chinese Ambassador Qi Zhenhong and him.

Before the Chinese ambassador, the President stated that he reiterated Sri Lanka’s strong commitment to the one-China policy as well as the principles of the United Nations Charter on national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In a tweet, the President stated that countries should avoid provocations that exacerbate the current global tensions.

He goes on to say that mutual respect and non-interference in countries’ internal affairs are important foundations for peaceful cooperation and non-conflict.

During a meeting with H.E. Qi Zhenghong, Ambassador of China, I reiterated Sri Lanka's firm commitment to the one-China policy, as well as to the UN Charter principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity of nations. (1/2)
