Regarding the appointment of the Inspector General of Police, although the appointments were made for 3 months each on 2 occasions, a letter was sent to the President stating that when the second appointment is made, the next appointment should be a permanent appointment.

The opposition leader said here that the President has the power to nominate the Inspector General of Police and the Legislative Assembly has the power to approve or reject it and there is no problem in interpreting the provisions of the Constitution.
