Energy Minister, Engineer Kumara Jayakody, stated that no strategic plan had been implemented in the past to maintain the balance of the national power system.
In an official statement, the Minister attributed the recent power outages to the unplanned and short-sighted programs of previous governments.
He further noted that preliminary investigations suggest inadequate guidance and a lack of technological understanding have also contributed to the current situation.
