No need for AG advice! The court orders the CID to obtain British High Commission citizenship reports on Diana!

The Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court ordered the Criminal Investigation Department today (05) to urgently call for the necessary reports from the British Embassy regarding the citizenship of State Minister Diana Gamage.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Prasanna Alwis has issued the order today when the complaint submitted by social activist Mr. Oshala Herath demanding that Mrs. Diana Gamage’s birth certificate, national identity card and passport are fake and to be investigated.

The magistrate stated that it would be easier for the court to issue orders related to the case after receiving the relevant embassy report, and it was not appropriate to issue orders to arrest the relevant person and bring him to court until then.

The Magistrate has also stated that, while investigating this case, it appears that the Attorney General’s instructions are not necessary to issue related orders.
