The Director General of the National Institute of Education (NIE), Professor Manjula Withanapathirana, has decided to temporarily step down from her position.
This decision has been taken pending the completion of an investigation into the inclusion of an introduction in a Grade 6 English language module that reportedly appears to reference the name of an inappropriate website.
