Sudan Gurung, a rising figure in Nepal’s Gen Z political movement, has resigned as Home Affairs Minister less than a month after assuming office.
He stated that the decision was made in response to public concerns and criticism regarding his financial assets, adding that his resignation was necessary to allow for an impartial investigation.
Gurung said he remains committed to maintaining:
- Transparency
- Accountability
- Ethical standards in public service
Following his resignation, Prime Minister Balendra Shah has temporarily assumed responsibility for the Home Affairs Ministry and will continue to oversee its functions.
