The National People’s Power (NPP) is reportedly preparing to hold its May Day rally on May 1st at Galle Face Green in Colombo.
Despite the Ranil Wickremesinghe-led government previously imposing a ban on political activities at Galle Face Green following the Aragalaya protest movement, it is now understood that steps are being taken to lift this restriction and grant permission for the event.
Accordingly, it is reported that the NPP, also known as the Jathika Jana Balawegaya, is planning to conduct this year’s May Day rally at Galle Face Green with a significant turnout, under the leadership of party leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
