According to Rajapaksa’s legal team, the Deputy Minister’s statement, which included displaying Rajapaksa’s photograph to the media, is entirely baseless and was made with the deliberate intention of causing political harm to his reputation.
In response, Namal Rajapaksa is seeking a writ of certiorari amounting to one billion rupees as compensation for the alleged defamation.
