MPs Scramble for Nominations as Parliament Dissolution Date Nears

It is reported that with the date for the dissolution of the Parliament approaching, a large group of MPs currently in the Parliament have launched a battle to get nominations from the main parties to return to the Parliament. Sri Lanka Latest News

It is currently being reported that the presidential election will be held on October 5th and all the main candidates have declared that as soon as the presidential election is won, the parliament will be dissolved and a general election will be held.

According to that, less than 114 days are left to hold a general election.

Under this situation, it is said that a large number of MPs who are currently independent and have joined various gang groups have started behind-the-scenes negotiations with the two main parties, Samagi Jana Balawegaya and Pohottuwa, to return to Parliament in the next general election.

A large number of these are MPs who came to Parliament this year after contesting from Potottu.

It is known that a large number of its MPs are currently working independently and the majority of them have already started negotiations with the United People’s Force.

As the current opinion polls have revealed that more seats will be divided between Sajabaya, JVP and Pohottuwa this time, the MPs have started negotiations with these parties.
