The country’s media reports that five infected people have been reported from the Peshawar area.
The media reports further state that there is a fear of Peshawar becoming a centre for patients coming from the Gulf region.
A 47-year-old man who had recently returned from the Gulf had tested positive for the virus.
He was identified on August 29 and has been isolated by Border Health Services staff.
According to the media reports, the health officials have requested the authorities to take immediate measures to prevent further transmission of the mpox virus.
They also point out that the resurgence of the virus in Peshawar is a serious matter.
