An incident involving Member of Parliament Ramanathan Archuna and a group of police officers on traffic duty occurred in the Rambewa area of Anuradhapura this morning (21).

The MP’s vehicle was reportedly stopped by the police for driving in a manner that obstructed other vehicles while using VIP lights. Following this, a heated altercation ensued between the MP and the officers.

During the exchange, the police requested MP Archuna’s identity card and driving license. However, the MP allegedly refused to provide the documents and displayed disorderly behavior.

The incident took place as MP Archuna was traveling to Parliament.
