Member of Parliament Nalin Bandara has accused Hans Wijesuriya, an advisor to President Ranil Wickremesinghe, of deliberately sabotaging the Starlink project initiated by the President and associated with tech entrepreneur Elon Musk.
According to MP Bandara, Hans Wijesuriya obstructed the implementation of the Starlink satellite internet program due to potential disadvantages it posed to Dialog Axiata, the telecommunications company with which he has professional ties. Bandara further emphasized that had the Starlink initiative been successfully implemented, Sri Lanka could have gained significant support from the United States through Elon Musk’s involvement.
