JVP leader Mr. Anura Kumara Dissanayake questioned in Parliament today whether such a decision was taken by the cabinet as stated in the order issued by the Secretary of State Administration to suspend the deposit of deposit money for the local government election.
In response, Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena stated that such a decision has not been taken and it is a false news reported by the media.
The leader of the opposition also said that if the cabinet does not take such a decision, action should be taken against the government officials who made such statements.
