Formal prevention program already in place

According to Dr. Chandima Jeevandara, director of the Institute of Allergy, Immunology, and Cell Biology at the University of Sri Jayawardenepura, monkeypox spreads at a slower rate than coronavirus.

However, he emphasizes that this disease, which is present in 75 countries worldwide, could strike this country at any time.

However, the Deputy Director General of Health Services, Dr. Hemanta Herath, stated that a formal program to protect the people of this country from Moneypox has already been implemented.

The expiration date for Pfizer Corona vaccines has been pushed back by three months.

The Ministry of Health made this decision after the relevant Pfizer vaccines were reviewed by the Drug Regulatory Authority of Sri Lanka. As a result, the expiration date for Pfizer vaccines, which was originally set for July 31, has been pushed back to October 31.
