Missing Peradeniya University student who went missing last week has been discovered dead.
The 24-year-old boy’s body was reportedly discovered in Kandy on the banks of the Mahaweli River.
The deceased was a Yakkala native and a fourth-year student at the University of Peradeniya’s Arts Faculty.
The student was reported missing on Sunday, and the Peradeniya Police opened an inquiry to find him (18).
The student’s letter, dated September 16, was discovered at his boarding house, according to the police, who claimed investigations had been started as a result.
The Peradeniya Police is looking into the circumstances surrounding his death.
