The Ministry of Defence has refuted reports claiming that security provided by the tri-forces and Civil Defence Department personnel to religious sites has been withdrawn.
Colonel M. B. B. Nalin Herath, Director of Media and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence, addressed this issue during a special press briefing, clarifying that the reports are unfounded.
Colonel Herath further noted that this misinformation was circulated by a prominent newspaper and on social media. He confirmed that the Ministry has already issued a denial of these claims via an official message on X.
