The Ministry of Power and Energy has requested a report from the Ministry of Transport on how many three-wheelers are used full-time to transport people.
According to reports, the fuel quota for three-wheelers engaged in full-time passenger transport will be increased, according to the Ministry.
Meanwhile, a vessel carrying 40,000 MT of crude oil is scheduled to arrive in the country on August 13th.
Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekara told Parliament that the Sapugaskanda oil refinery will reopen on August 15th, following the arrival of the crude oil shipment.
Because the refinery was shut down, the supply of kerosene to the industries was severely limited, but supply is expected to resume on August 19th.
