A special meeting was held on the 27th at the Opposition Leader’s Office between Minister Winston Peters and Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa.

During the meeting, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa presented Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters with a life-size photograph of a Sri Lankan elephant calf. The image, capturing a calf born freely within a national sanctuary, serves as a powerful symbol of Sri Lanka’s strong dedication to wildlife conservation and reflects the enduring friendship between the two island nations.

The event was attended by several members representing the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, including Members of Parliament Dr. Harsha de Silva, Hector Appuhami, Dr. Kavinda Jayawardena, and Harshana Rajakaruna. Other attendees included Suranga Ratnayake, Professor Kennedy Gunawardena, Professor Aminda Methsila, Dr. Athula Samarakoon, Dr. Nadeesh de Silva, Dr. Chandima Wijayagunawardena, Mr. Talal Rafi, Mr. Dilum Alagiyawanna, and Ms. Kalpana Frando.
