Minister Vijitha Herath recently conducted an urgent inspection at the Colombo Port to examine delays in the Customs container clearance process.
During his visit, members of the Container Truck Owners Association and several drivers raised multiple complaints, alleging issues linked to the conduct of Customs officers.
In response, the Customs Trade Union Alliance released a statement yesterday (12), refuting all accusations and expressing its dissatisfaction over the claims.
